WE LOVE MAMA~RETTA! URGENT HELP NEEDED.
Aloha Family,
My mama, Loretta: "Mama~Retta", needs immediate open heart surgery. We live in remote Kauai, Hawaii, and the specialist is in Portland, Oregon.
As you all know, my 81 year old mom is my best friend, my rock. The best mom I could ever ask for. The picture posted here is of us this past Christmas Day.
My name is Mahana. I am an only child (40). We have no family to help us. In 2014: I organized the Mama~Retta Breast Cancer Support: when my mama went through Advanced Stage 3 Breast Cancer and Chemo in 2014, when she almost died of the sepsis which has now deteriorated her heart. She is now 100% cancer free... but needs immediate heart surgery. Her heart is leaking blood into her lungs.
We need help ASAP.
Today, 2.07.2017, we found out that my mom, Loretta, needs immediate surgery. Neither of us have left Hawaii since 2006.
Tomorrow, we find out if insurance will pay for her flight. Praying that it will pay for mine as well, but that sounds like quite the stretch.
What we need immediate funds for:
1. Travel from Hawaii to Oregon as soon as test results are back (doctor said probably within the month) for immediate surgery.
2. Accomodation while there and recovery for mama and I, which will be well over a week.
3. Transporation while in OR.
4. Food.
5. Clothes. We live barefoot and in sarongs, I'm not kidding. We barely own socks, much less winter clothes. It is freezing in Oregon. We haven't experienced weather beneath 54 degress since 2006. That may sound funny to some of you, but we barely own socks, much less winter boots, coats, hats, gloves, and all those things we never think about.
