Heart surgery for Winston the Frenchie!

Our rescue, SOUL Dog RESCUE & Rehab, got a call from a breeder in January about a 10 week old Frenchie puppy with a heart murmur.  We immediate went to pick him up, noticing right away that he was smaller and thinner than he should be at 10 weeks.  Despite our best efforts over the next few months with high calorie food and supplements, Winston did not seem to be growing at a normal rate.  Over the last few weeks he has been evaluated by several doctors and an echocardiogram was done which revealed a much more serious condition.  Winston has a hole in his heart and is in the beginning stages of congestive heart failure.  Without life saving surgery to close the hole he will most likely die by the age of one.  The good news is that the surgery has a great success rate if we get it done soon before his health deteriorates any further.
