Heart Surgery for my Son, Stone Singletary
Donation protected
On December 11th of this year, Stone will be having a second surgery, (SVT)Supraventricular Tachycardia on his heart at Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta. In 2011, he had this surgery and it seemed to have worked and no problems until earlier this year. The same symptoms came back, but more noticable and often. His mother and I met with a Pediatric Cardiologist from Egleston. The Dr. Said that there was only a 1% chance that it was reoccurring from the original surgery. They provided him with a heart monitor to wear to try and see if his heart would act up while wearing it. Stone fell into that 1% category. Even without an episode occurring while the monitor was in place, his heart was sending strong signals that something was not right and it was determined we needed to do something. Even though we have him covered through insurance, they will only pay 70%. His surgery in 2011 was $88,000. Being almost 9 years later, the Surgery will be more than before. It is hard to ask for help from anyone and if nothing else, please say a prayer for my son. He is very athletic and into sports and activities that definitely require a healthy heart. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers for my little man and I know he does and will too.
