Heart Surgery for my daughter, Ryann Russell

Donation protected
Hi all! My name is Angie, and I am the proud Mama of a beautiful, strong, resilient baby girl, Ryann. I am reaching out to ask you to help my sweet girl get the heart surgery she so desperately needs.

If you know myself or Ryann, you know she has been faced with hardship over and over again since birth. If you are a new friend here, please allow me a few minutes to introduce you to my incredibly happy and strong daughter, Ryann Everly Russell.

Ryann was born at 24 weeks, as a micro-preemie. I went in for my 24 week check up and without hesitation, the doctors informed me I was in labor. After days of trying to hold onto Ryann tightly in my tummy, she had turned breech, sending me into emergency surgery.

After a short call to family to rush to the hospital and an emergency C-Section, we welcomed the sweetest soul into this world at 24 weeks and 3 days, at a little over 1lb.

Ryann remained in the NICU for about 4 months directly after birth. She was incredibly premature, which came with its own set of medical issues. She was jaundice, had optical, heart and lung complications, and was unable to breath on her own for a very long time. After months in the NICU, she was finally able to come home, only to almost immediately contract RSV and Phenomena and have to be readmitted to the hospital. Ryann has since had to be readmitted into the hospital for RSV and Phenomena multiple times over the past few years, facing the same struggle over and over again.

Due to her prematurity, Ryann faces a longterm respiratory issue. Not only does she struggle with her oxygen, she was born with a Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) and an Atrial septal defect (ASD).

To summarize, Ryann has two holes in her heart. Her PDA hole is slowly closing on its own, which is great! But unfortunately her ASD is slowly getting larger, requiring her to need emergent heart surgery very soon. Her surgery can go one of two ways. She will either need open heart surgery or cardiac catheterization. The doctors are keeping a close eye on her and are continuously monitoring her in hopes that the hole will close instead of continuing to slowly open. But unfortunately, the odds of that are slim to none.

Ryann is the happiest, strongest, most outgoing little girl. I am continuously in awe of her resilience and strength everyday and am so thankful she is here with us today.

I am reaching out and asking you to donate to help Ryann get the surgery she so desperately needs. Anything you can do, is so greatly appreciated.

We are so grateful for the support of our family and friends through every up and down, every road block we've faced, and every sweet prayer that's been sent.

Please help Ryann today, by donating. A kind comment, a short prayer,  virtual hug, anything helps!

Thank you for all you do,
Angie Russell (Ryann's Mama)
