Heart Surgery for Jared Streeter

Jared has been married to his college sweetheart for 23 years. They have three kids: Dallin (his soon-to-be bride, Ariana), Andrew, and Anna. To Jared, his family is everything.

On November 15, 2022, Jared was rushed by ambulance to the ER at Intermountain Medical Center. It was determined he had a severe GI bleed; it was also discovered he has an aortic aneurysm...his third aneurysm. Jared was in the hospital for a week recovering from the GI bleed. While there, Jared met with the vascular and heart surgeons to discuss the aneurysm repair, which would need to take place very soon to prevent a rupture.

Miraculously, Jared survived emergency heart surgery for a ruptured aortic aneurysm fifteen years ago while living in VA. In 2012 Jared had another surgery for an abdominal aortic aneurysm which had many complications and was in the hospital for six weeks and recovering at home for several months. As you can imagine, emotions are high for Jared and his family, who are heading into a third heart surgery scheduled for Dec 27, 2022. Repairing this aneurysm requires rerouting blood vessels to the brain and arms, and a stent will be placed to prevent the rupture of the aneurysm.

Due to health insurance complications, the mounting medical bills, and the unexpected loss of income during this health emergency, the Streeter family faces an enormous financial burden. Laura has been unable to work since Jared's admission to the ER as she has shifted to caring for the kids and Jared. It is unknown how long Jared's recovery will be, but it is expected to be substantial.
