Heart Surgery Agrita

My dear cousin Agrita (58 years old) has been faced with a serious challenge in life – battling septic endocarditis.

Agrita used to work as a fitness trainer and a healthy lifestyle coach. She was always active, cheerful, energetic, and sporty, inspiring and motivating everyone around her.

Her diagnosis is bacterial endocarditis caused by the bacteria Neisseria bacilliformis, which has only been documented in 4 cases worldwide before!

Agrita is the fifth person in the world to receive this diagnosis!

Since December 20, 2024, Agrita has been suffering from sepsis and a persistent fever of 40°C (104°F). After the New Year, she was admitted to the hospital, where it took a long time to identify the cause, as the bacteria responsible is incredibly rare for this disease.

On 24th January Agrita had an open-heart surgery to replace a heart valve, clear her heart of the bacteria, and reconstruct it. She had to undergo 2 surgeries on that day since she was losing a lot of blood a cause had to be found. After all blood transfusion was necessary. Currently Agrita‘s condition is stable, however remains very difficult. She will stay in the hospital for at least 6 weeks.

Afterwards Agrita will require a serious and lengthy rehabilitation period at a rehabilitation center, along with continued medication.

To be able to cover the medical expenses we have created a donation fund to help her. Agrita currently lives alone, having lost her father earlier this year. She has also been caring for her 85-year-old mother, who has mobility challenges and was left alone after 63 years of marriage. Agrita has no insurance or employment at the moment, leaving her with no income or savings to cover the necessary expenses.

Your support will go toward medical expenses, rehabilitation, transportation, communication, caregiving, and assistance costs, as well as rent and other utilities while Agrita is in recovery.

Any surplus donations, after covering these expenses, will be donated further to other people in need.

Agrita is a fighter with immense positive energy, and I believe everything will go well. Together, we can bring back our bundle of energy, who will once again bring joy and help to others after her recovery!
