For nearly 125 years, God has sustained Heart of Mary School through the generosity, faith, and shared commitment of those who believe in educating the whole child.

Heart of Mary School has long stood as a place of learning, stability, and hope in the heart of our community. Generations of children—many from families facing economic hardship—have found not only an education within our walls, but love, structure, and the belief that they are capable of more.

Today, Heart of Mary is growing. We are approaching 120 students, many of whom rely on scholarships to attend. While scholarship funding is essential to our mission, it alone is not enough to fully sustain a small, faith-based school committed to meeting students where they are and helping them rise.

Over the past two (2) years, our community experienced profound losses with the passing of Major General J. Gary Cooper and Secretary Alexis Herman—two of Heart of Mary’s strongest supporters and faithful champions. Their belief in this school went beyond words. They invested in our children, our teachers, and our future. The loss of their support created an unexpected gap in our operating budget, one we are now working diligently to overcome.

This GoFundMe is not about saving Heart of Mary from closure. We are open. We are educating. We are doing the work. This moment is about bridging a gap—ensuring that our students continue to receive individualized instruction, tutoring, and faith-centered care while we navigate this season of transition.

Every gift is an act of stewardship. It is a reminder that legacy matters, that children deserve consistency, and that a school built on faith and service is worth sustaining—not just for today, but for generations to come.
