Heart of a Fighter - Support Laly's fight for her life.

Our dear Xiclaly "Laly" Garcia is a fighter but desperately needs our help.

For nearly two weeks, symptoms of Laly's imminently life threatening heart condition went misdiagnosed by multiple local doctors. Against all odds she stayed with us until someone finally heard her. On Tuesday, May 6 Laly was quickly transported to - and rushed into surgery at - Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California.

Today, Laly is fighting for her life while doctors determine whether her heart can ever be strong enough on its own, while preparing for the likelihood that she’ll need a heart transplant.

Laly's parents arrived from Los Angeles along with her uncle from Sacramento to keep vigil at her bedside. Her incredible boyfriend, Kevin, hasn't left her side and is exactly who we want advocating for our girl. Laly's dance family decorated her room in the ICU with photos of her favorite happy memories, and are frequent visitors - arriving always in pairs so Laly's room is filled with "witty banter" (as her nurses call us). We are just waiting for the day when she can can sass and laugh with us again.

We're only a few days into all of this, but you can imagine how bills for her out of town family are already adding up. And we haven't even begun to understand what this will mean financially for Laly once we get into what is sure to be a very long road. Even with insurance, this will be a financially life changing event, in addition to the uphill climb she will have in her recovery.
