The important thing is that everyone is fine! It just took a couple harrowing and expensive weeks to find that out. Now we need help covering the expenses of two simultaneous medical scares.

The first concerns our cat, Ollie. During an otherwise routine appointment our vet heard a heart murmur. You cannot tell the difference between a totally benign murmur or a deadly one by ear, so we had to bring Ollie to a veterinary cardiologist to find out what was going on. We are happy to report: it's benign!

But that's not all. That same week my wife went to the dermatologist to check what we suspected could be skin cancer. Turns out it wasn't, but only because we jumped on it so quickly: it was merely precancerous, which isn't ideal but easier to treat than the full thing.

Needless to say, it's been a difficult month for our little family! Considering the news we could have gotten, we feel like we dodged a couple bullets.

Now we've got to deal with the expense of the appointments, specialists, blood work, lab work, treatments and follow ups for both patients. And we have no health insurance because hahahaha.
