Casey was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) November 29th 2012. Once chemotherapy treatments started the cancer disappeared and he has been in remission every since. During diagnosis an MRI showed massive clots in both ventricles of Casey's heart. Casey was discharged from the hospital 1 month later just in time to be home for Christmas.
January 11th 2013 the ice cream man was coming down his street. Running out to get an ice cream Casey tripped and fell. This caused enough of a jolt to dislodge the clots in his heart which lodged his aorta. A life saving surgery was performed to remove the clots. Many complications and 7 months later Casey was able to go home again.
Casey has completed chemotherapy but damage done to the tissue of his heart is irreversible. Casey has CHF (congestive heart failure) and it is progressing. Casey has been on the heart transplant list for almost a year and was recently upgraded to 1-A status. He is now in patient at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles on drip medication to keep his heart happy and pumping until a donor heart becomes available.
This life changing event started November of 2012. This meant that the family went from two incomes to one when Casey's mom had to stop working to take care of him 24/7.
Casey's heart transplant is the final leg in his fight for survival. Casey and his family have faced incredible adversity through this journey. There has been tremendous financial strain, any donation amount will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for the continued support for Casey and the Fisher family
