Heart Faliure Advancing And Moving
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Ashot Nalbandyan. My wife is Jamie, and we have three beautiful daughters; Amelia, Madison, and Hannah.
Many people who know me and my family know that I have been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease and Heart Faliure. This disease has been progressively advancing for the last 4 years however, this last year it has been held at bay due to the amazing medications I have been so fortunate to be prescribed. Sadly, this life saving medication comes with an extremely high price-tag. Subsequentially, 3 weeks ago I got a call from my Cardiologist saying that they finally got a better picture of my heart (I am also diagnosed with Pectus Excavatum, where half my sternum grows inward, making it difficult to get a good picture) and it showed that I have something called a myocardial bridge which causes the majority of my symptoms.
A myocardial bridge is where the arteries in my heart grew inside and through my heart muscles, instead of laying on top of them. This is causing a long list of symptoms and needs to be remedied quickly. What this means is that my open heart surgery needs to happen within the next 1-2 years instead of 3 years from now or I risk loosing blood flow permanently in my heart which will cause permanent heart damage.
On top of dealing with a life threatening heart condition my family’s current living situation has been a nightmare. Our house has been infested with rats that have caused over $4 to $5,000 dollars worth of damage to our belongings as well as the home. Our house has been infested with these rodents for the last 6 months which has been very difficult to deal with and our landlord has refused to do anything except lay down a couple snap traps throughout the property. He has forbidden us from doing anything to fix the situation.
Sadly, the high cost of sustaining a family of five with rent, food, utilities, gas and everything else required to take care of 3 children has made even my medication difficult to afford. Inflation has also made just the daily necessities difficult to afford we are currently waiting for our tax money to come in and hoping that will buy us some time however, my increasing health concerns have turned this into a dire emergency situation.
On top of everything we are already dealing with we now unexpectedly need to move as soon as possible which we are completely unprepared to do. I do plan on taking our landlord to court to try to recoup the fees and moving costs, on top of the damages due to the rodents we have suffered but, it may be a long ways off if we we see a dime even awarded to us in reimbursement.
I work full time and my wife works part time on top of taking care of our children. We do not have any family down here to help take care of the kids and to be honest we weren’t expecting all these things to happen at once. People who know us know how hard working we are, and all we do we do for our children as well as those in need. Sadly, that includes us now.
Our family has always been strong and nothing will keep us from fighting and surviving this unforeseen situation. I’m all out of options and we truly need your help and assistance.
If you cannot donate, we totally understand, trust me we do however, just sharing this gofundme will be a great help as well because someone that is in a position to donate may see it. Please share this request for help on your social media accounts.
Much love and many thanks,
Amelia, Madison, Hannah, Jamie, and Ash <3
How Money Will be Used:
All money will be added to a CD account to be used when surgery occurs and when we need to move to it can be safe and only used to keep us afloat during recovery
