Char has been accepted into the Washington Community College Consortium for Study Abroad summer program in Seoul, South Korea. The total estimated cost for the entire program is 5K to 6K.
While this estimate does include airfare, food and other fees in the line items, the actual amounts are higher. We are awaiting word on what may be covered by financial aid, and scholarships, and we have a good chunk already in savings. So this GFM is focused on padding out these things:
- Airfare- Tickets are looking to be around twice round trip what was estimated. Something about gas prices skyrocketing in the last month? /sarcasm
- ID, Passport & insurance fees.
- Personal Expenses- Food, touristy things, events that aren't covered by the program fees, other things that might come up. Having a expenses buffer would make everyone feel much better.
