***UPDATE***
On Saturday 27th July Ian received his heart and kidney transplant from an amazing donor. Without receiving these organs Ian would have died.
Someone was definitely looking over him that night. He is currently still in hospital and making milestones. The journey has only just begun for this family. With Ian already being in hospital for 5 weeks the accommodation costs for Juanita haven't been cheap coupled with having no income coming in.
The biggest dangers are post surgery where there can be potential rejection and infection of the heart and kidney. So for the next 3 to 6 months they have to reside in Brisbane so Ian can attend medical appointments each week at 2 separate hospitals, physio, gym, counselling.
Accommodation and travelling back and forward to all these appointments is quite expensive when you are not working and still trying to pay a mortgage and other bills at home.
~HOW CAN YOU HELP~
We are trying to help Ian ,Juanita and family by raising some funds to take the financial pressure off them so Ian can recover and to be able to pay for things like
1. To get there 2 younger children down to them in Brisbane
2. Mortgage payments
3. OutofpocketexpenseswhileinBrisbane
4. Household bills
This would really mean a lot to them as the last few weeks have been a rollercoaster for this family.
The smallest of donation will really help them out. Or even just sharing this page to get the word out.
Ian, 53 of Charters Towers North Qld, needs a life saving double organ transplant of the heart and kidneys.
Ian is the father of 6 children and partner of Juanita. Ian’s health has deteriorated dramatically in the last few years.
He suffers from heart failure and polycystic kidney disease, a hereditary disease that sadly runs in his side of family. This same disease has also taken the life of Ian and Juanita’s son Jacob in 2007. Jacob died from this aggressive disease as an infant after being born with adult size kidneys. Ian also lost his father at a young age along with his sister to similar complications from the same disease.
Over the last 4 years Ian has been unable to work or provide for his family, leaving Juanita to work a casual job, as well as caring for Ian and their children and travelling between Townsville and Brisbane for numerous medical appointments.
As you can imagine this has caused a lot of financial stress for the family and will continue to worsen with Juanita and her two youngest children needing to relocate to Brisbane to be by Ian’s side.
Sadly Ian can’t return to his home in Charters Towers until he has had the life saving surgery. He is currently waiting in Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane for a donor. The money raised will help take some of the financial strain off the family and help with relocating them to Brisbane to be with Ian in this very difficult and uncertain time. Any donations to this beautiful family will be most gratefully received.
Alternatively, if you would rather assist by depositing money straight into Juanita's account, her account is as follows:

On behalf of Juanita and Ian's friends and family, we are very grateful for any kindness and generosity you have shown.
