My name is Shayne and I really want to help my friend Isabel pay for her hearing aids!

Isabel is my soul sister and has been in my life for the last 10 years! She’s been my shoulder to cry on, endless source of support and best friend who shows up, checks in and is always there for me no matter how hard life has been and no matter the distance between us!

Isabel is a single mom, works 3 jobs (2 in community radio and one at an petshop) and has no family support at all. She’s spent the last few years digging out of a financial hole her ex husband left for her. The last 5 years really have been gruelling and she honestly just deserves to catch a break for once.

Isabel is very deaf - without her hearing aids she can’t hear a thing - which is both a safety issue in South Africa (due to the rate of crime) and also means she can’t work (you kind of need to hear to be a radio presenter)!

Isabel has been using her late mothers hearing aids for the last few years while saving to repair her own set which died with age…she finally got together a total of R6000 only to find out hers are too old to be repaired and need to be replaced. The very basic replacement set costs over R10000 per ear.

My friend needs our help! I believe in the power of community and know how far a little bit of help can go when it’s spread out amongst a few. I’m pleading with you to help me help this incredibly hard working woman in my life! She’s a giver and it’s been her downfall, taken advantage of and walked over and id really like to prove to her that sometimes things can work out - even at the hardest of times!
