During these trying times, my hearing aids have stopped working.  It is imperative that I replace them as soon as possible. The ones I wear are not the most expensive ones on the market - but they are digital programmable and give me the best hearing correction for what is a moderate price.  Without hearing aids, I can barely communicate with anyone verbally.  I cannot read lips when people have on masks, and most people's normal speaking voice is too low for me to hear without these aids.  It affects me all day, every day, at home, at the clinic, at the doctor, at the grocery store.  Knowing that I'm not hearing properly also creates a level of constant stress and anxiety that I will miss something important.

Medical insurance does not cover hearing aids.  This is a huge expense for a family that has been forced into living paycheck to paycheck because of my many hospital stays just in the past 5 years.  

I am severely hard of hearing but am also on disability due to a large array of medical problems which include kidney failure, respiratory failure, diabetes, epilepsy and fibromyalgia.  

We also have an adult disabled son, Andrew, who is a stroke survivor, also has epilepsy, and had a kidney transplant in 2015.

We need help raising the money to replace these hearing aids as soon as possible. I go to dialysis three times a week and cannot hear my nurses and techs.  I struggle at doctors' appointments.  COVID makes it even harder because with everyone wearing masks, I cannot read lips to assist me with communication.   My family is constantly frustrated with me when I do not hear and unfortunately, I often bear the brunt of their anger when my hearing loss is beyond my control.

I am so grateful for any help.   I would like to schedule an audiologist appointment for September and order my new hearing aids then.  The ones I wear are not the most expensive ones on the market - but they are digital programmable and give me the best hearing correction for what is a moderate price.
