Hi all! My name is Fiona Miers. I’m a Deaf trans woman living in DC and I’m fundraising for a pair of hearing aids for myself.

I’ve been dependent on hearing aids for over ten years to access the hearing world. Unfortunately, they both broke within a month of each other, and I’ve been struggling to adjust to a world that has been incredibly unaccommodating ever since.

Anyone that knows me has always seen me with my AirPods in, an incredibly makeshift solution to hearing aids that feels a bit like putting a band-aid on a broken finger. I truly struggle so much more every day to engage in conversations, working so much harder just to feel involved. Not knowing what’s being said around me causes so much anxiety and discomfort, and hearing aids would provide the accessibility and security to navigate the world independently, assume more responsibility in my career, and better connect with the world around me.

I know the world is a really difficult place right now and money is tight for everybody, but anything you can spare to help this doll pay for her medical expenses would be so deeply appreciated.
