July 18th Update: I had my appointment today to order the hearing aids. They are a tiny bit more than I anticipated, so I have added $500 to my fundraising goal. But the good news is even if I don't have the full amount when I pick them up, they will accept payments! I will get them in August before the school semester starts. And I ordered them in a very pretty rose gold colour (at no extra cost)! I am looking forward to improving my quality of life with these. Once again, I want to thank everyone for helping!

July 17th Update: Thank you all so much, I have reached my goal! Tomorrow I go in and get the molds made and get them ordered!

Hi, I'm Cheyanne. I'm a mature student in university and I need hearing aids. Right now I am living in a world where I can’t easily connect with people. I miss information in meetings at work, in lectures at school, and even just out to dinner with friends. I have to ask other people to repeat themselves or friends/colleagues what was just said. It’s frustrating, isolating, and embarrassing.

Hearing aids, on average, cost $1200-$1500 EACH and I need two, as I have hearing loss in both ears. Unfortunately, my student insurance does not cover hearing aids and the Province of Ontario will only assist up to $500 per hearing aid.

I don't like asking people for money but I need them for school, and I'm struggling to afford them. Anything at all will help, even $10.
