Hear For Kingston
Hello Everyone,
I am reaching out to all family, friends and anyone who is able to help Kingston (“King”) Quattlebaum as he needs our help right now. Anyone who knows King knows that he is a great kid and an awesome athlete. He and my son have been best of friends since they started out in youth football together about 10 years ago, so he’s very dear to us and I know a lot of others feel the same.
In November of 2020, King suffered a sudden onset of vertigo. Medications and physical therapy at the time was the only recommended treatment. Being an athlete, King was determined to regain balance and beat his constant dizziness. One morning (5 months later) he woke up unable to hear out of his right ear. Immediately, doctors discovered that he had 100% hearing loss in his right ear and rapid hearing loss in his left.
King has received numerous steroid injections directly into the eardrum, has to take oral medications, as well as undergo a very costly surgical procedure to save his hearing at the end of August. Fortunately, the left ear has been saved, however he still has no hearing in his right ear and that is where your help is needed. King will be undergoing a major surgery to place a Cochlear Implant which is a device that will restore his hearing. Met with many emotions his mother, Kisha Pratt and family are grateful he will hear again and have a normal functioning life, however, being a single mother with a daughter in college has put some financial pressure on her. With the demand of special ordered medicine not being covered by insurance, a very high surgery deductible, the cost of the device, and post device treatments the expenses are constantly rising.
Now a senior in High School, Kingston is determined to finish out his year as healthy and strong as he can. Never once complaining, he's still fighting and he's almost at the end of the road back to normal hearing.
If your are able to help, please do so. Anything is something and would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to his mother, Kisha to pay the cost of all expenses. If you have any questions, please feel free reach out.
Let's put on for our King. Thank you all in advance.
