The Health to Wealth Project is a platform created by Sandra Lucy Chinenye Asomugha to end the cycle of hunger and poverty through healthy living. I strongly believe that my purpose in this world to shine a positive light in the lives of others and to give back in one way or another.
The "Health to Wealth" platform is focused on empowering people all over the world on the importance of healthy living and giving back to the community in ways that promote a healthy lifestyle. These ways include: Health fairs and health screenings, teaching people ways to take care of their health, providing medical supplies to clinics, centres and hospitals in need, providing clean clothes and toiletries to people who are in need because a healthy lifestyle starts with good hygeine. I strongly believe that only when a person is healthy would they be able to positively impact the society and be productive, thereby curbing poverty, one person at a time.
In July 2015, I started the health to wealth project. I went to a primary school in my village in Imo State Nigeria and donated hygienic supplies and toiletries
such as bucket taps, soaps, toothpastes, tooth brushes and clean foot wears to the 300+kids in the school and their teachers. I also talked to them about the importance of handwashing, proper hygiene and promoting a healthy lifestyle. This project was successful, due to God's divine intrervention.
This year, I plan to take the “Health to Wealth Project” to another level by organizing a health fair and donating medical supplies adn medications to Model Primary Health Centre; the only health care centre in my village. The centre has dilapidating medical supplies, few medications and the patients do not get the proper care they need. Many of which die of illnesses that are curable, if they got the proper care they needed.
The money raised would be used in buying medical supplies such as: blood pressure machines, blood sugar test machines, HIV testing supplies, nebulizer machines, malaria, blood pressure and diabetes medications, laboratory supplies and wheel chairs for the clinic as the clinic have only one, semi-functional wheelchair. The money would also go a long way in helping with shipping these supplies to Nigeria, alongside 2 barrells of clothings to be distributed to the people in need.
This project means a lot to me because I love helping people and positively impacting the lives of others. I also know that a lot of people are in need of help and I want to reach out to them in any way possible to help make their lives better. I would be very grateful if you can come on board and help me reach and even surpass my goal by December 1st 2016. This would help make someone's Christmas better.
