My wife Jessica and I were blessed with the wonderful news that we are having a baby girl this Thanksgiving. We are beyond excited but also very nervous and cautious as this is our first successful pregnancy and we unfortunately lost insurance coverage shortly after finding out.
In an urgent effort to try and get under any type of insurance, we reached out to all the providers we could but were shut down by all resources. We tried to enroll in Obama Care, Medi-Cal, personal insurance, and the list can keep going, but we were either denied, didn't qualify or unable to because the enrollment period was closed. After endless hours on the phone and several meetings with different carriers, it was clearly determined that we can't get any form of insurance coverage until Jan 2016.
Since then, we have been earnestly praying and seeking the safest and most affordable healthcare services for Jessica & baby Klair for this short remainder of the pregnancy & birth. One of the most recommended options we found was to go through a birthing center. A major benefit is they take care of prenatal visits through birth & postpartum care, but this is not something we are able to afford. We have tried a lot of different avenues to figure out a way to afford this in a such short period of time, but we have no other options.
We have no where else to go and feel this is our last hope, so we are reaching out for help. It has been such a challenging experience and we just want our little girl to be healthy and come safely into this world. We know there's a lot of amazing people on gofundme to support and if God puts this on your heart to help us, we sincerely thank you with all of our hearts and pray God pour his blessings upon you!!!!
If you have more questions about this situation or us, please feel free to email us.
Thank you, Jessica and Trae Bumpus
