HealMike: Stronger than the Stroke

My dad Michael is a hardworking, athletic provider for the Guida family. When he isn't managing his home-building construction company, dad finds joy in spending quality time with our big family (the lucky guy has 10 brothers and sisters!). He has all kinds of fun in the mountains skiing; mushroom hunting; and going for walks with my mom and our dog Baron.
In February this year, Michael called us awake in the middle of the night asking for help to get out of bed. He was unable to move the left side of his body. My stubborn dad insisted he only needed help to get out of bed but mom knew better (she always does). After calling the ambulance, dad was taken to Denver, CO as a stroke patient.
He survived 2 major strokes, and now needs physical and neurological rehabilitation.
Since dad is (currently) paralyzed on his left side of his body, he (currently) uses a wheelchair to move around. My generous mom Liisa gives him 24-hour care and has been by his side selflessly serving him for months now.
As you can imagine, full-time hospital care is expensive and especially exhausting for mom. The GoFundMe money will be used to pay hospital bills accumulated from surgeries and hospital care. We would also like to pay a nurse that can help my mom care for dad’s needs and lift some of the weight from mom’s shoulders.
