On January 27, 2021, John Barnes was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with multiple life-threatening conditions. That was the beginning of nearly 10 months of medical intervention which saved his life, but wreaked havoc on his body. John is currently in the hospital, but we’re working to get him home as soon as possible to continue his healing and recovery. It’s been a difficult journey. And unfortunately, it’s not over yet.
Many of you may be familiar John Barnes’ amazing natural born talent. Whether he was recording with Marvin Gaye on the classic album I Want You; co-writing and producing music for Michael Jackson’s legendary BAD Album; or arranging, producing and writing for the epic recording We Are The World, he has contributed to some of the most successful and impactful recordings the world has ever known. And he still has more to contribute.
Anyone who knows John knows how many people he has helped. Whether it’s generating ideas and solutions, furthering careers or lifting up spirits, countless people have been blessed by his generous heart. This is our opportunity to show up for him in this time of need.
He is now unable to work, facing extensive costs for ongoing caregiving, medical bills, therapies as well as life essentials such as rent, utilities and groceries.
It is with great expectations that we are counting on those whose hearts he has touched, whose lives he has benefitted, and the community of music lovers, light workers, and all empaths and sensitive souls to contribute to this worthy cause.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 in the next 90 days. This will allow John to be at home and focus on his healing without the overwhelming stresses of so many expenses. He’s a fighter. He’s come a long way and he continues to improve. Let’s help him come back stronger and better.
