Healing on Purpose: My Recovery Journey (Updated)
Hi friend,
Thank you for being here. Whether you’ve known me for years or just stumbled into my story, I don’t take your presence lightly.
When I first started this GoFundMe, I had a vision for what healing would look like this fall. But life rarely goes as planned. And still… I’m here. Still healing. Still choosing softness. Still showing up.
The Reality Since July
What I hoped would be a short recovery season has stretched far longer than I imagined. Since the summer, I’ve had multiple health setbacks:
A brain injury and back injury from a car accident in January
A diagnosis of Stage 4 endometriosis
A gastric bypass revision surgery (Sept 30)
And now, a hysterectomy scheduled for December 3
I’ve spent the majority of this year in survival mode. Not working. Not creating like I used to. Just… surviving and surrendering to what healing really takes.
The original plan was to recover in the Dominican Republic, but that didn’t pan out. Instead, I’ve been home, navigating recovery and keeping my head above water while mothering, managing chronic illness, and healing through it all.
Why I Still Need Support
This journey hasn’t just impacted me — it’s affected my entire household.
My fiancé has carried so much while I’ve been in bed, in pain, or in appointments. And while I’ve had to step back from work and my business (Jariinovates Studios), our bills haven’t stopped.
