Hello everyone.

Enoch has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Nephoronpthisis. I am updating this from when we originally posted this back in November 2021.

He became very sick for a week and was rushed to the hospital when his oxygen began to drop. We monitored his oxygen at home because he had respiratory issues often.

He was admitted to Long Beach Children's miller at the time. He was no longer eating, had a 102 fever we could not break, black diarrhea, lethargic, and began to swell on his hands, face, lets, neck.

Upon admission he had already lost half his blood count and needed an immediate blood transfusion. A team of 6 specialists struggled to figure out what was wrong with him. That was when we received devastating news of his kidney condition. They originally diagnosed him with polycystic kidney disease. They told us that his kidneys were the size of an adults. He had extremely high blood pressure which is related to the kidney disease. His nephrologist informed us that it would be best that his care be transferred to a bigger hospital with more research on his disease, because all the children he had taken care of with similar characteristics of Enoch's never made it past his age. He was only 14 months at the time. We later went to UCLA for a 2nd opinion.

Fast forward to January 2022, we were hospitalized at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. It was his first visit with his new Pulmonologist. She admitted us immediately after I had explained all the symptoms he was experiencing at home. We would later find out that Enoch has dysphagia, a condition in which liquid spills into his lungs. He is high risk for aspiration and penetration. We also discovered he was losing over 60% of oxygen during sleep and was diagnosed with central apnea and sleep related hypoxemia.

We were hospitalized again in May 2023. At that time he was in Stage 4 Renal Failure. He caught a virus that caused his kidneys to stop working. A few weeks later we discovered that he was in total failure (Stage 5 - End Stage Renal Disease).

Enoch received emergency dialysis and must now be at the hospital 3x a week for 3 hours to keep him alive.

We asked for donations to help Enoch's family of 1 income. They are a family of 6. His medications initially weren't covered by insurance. We found out that the thickener needed to prevent liquids spilling into his lungs are not covered. Now Enoch requires special medical equipment and supplies to keep his dialysis site safe and protected. His family travels 4 hours round trip over 15x a month just so he can be seen at the best hospital in California for Nephrology (Renal/Kidney care). He is currently in need of an living donor.

The family is incredibly overwhelmed with “grief,” heartache, pain, and sorrow. Thank you for the continued love and support for my sister and our family during this extremely hard time. Our lives have flipped a complete 180 in a matter of days.
