As most of you know I have recently found out I have something called Leaky Gut on top of Eczema that I've had since I was 18 months old. What is Leaky Gut Sydrome you ask?
Leaky Gut is where something breaks apart tight junctions in your instestinal lining.
Once these tight junctions get broken apart, you have a leaky gut. When your gut is leaky, things like toxins, microbes, undigested food particles, and more can escape from your intestines and travel throughout your body via your bloodstream. Your immune system marks these "foreign invaders" as pathogens and attacks them. The immune response to these invaders can appear in many forms. Mine appears to be food sensitivities and skin problems. Stress also is as trigger.
What causes Leaky Gut Syndrome?
"The main culprits are foods, infections, and toxins. Gluten is the number one cause of leaky gut. Other inflammatory foods like dairy or toxic foods, such sugar and excessive alcohol, are suspected as well. The most common infectious causes are candida overgrowth, intestinal parasites, and small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Toxins come in the form of medications, like Motrin, Advil, steroids, antibiotics, and acid-reducing drugs, and environmental toxins like mercury, pesticides and BPA from plastics. With all of that information being said, I am a hot mess. One week my skin will get better, another week something could set it off and my skin will break out so bad to the point I cannot move or leave my house for days. I flare up all over my whole body, but especially on my neck, chest, arms, hands and legs. It's very uncomfortable and painful, especially when it's trying to heal. It's discouraging and hinders me from doing a lot of things you wouldn't think it would. I have been going to an awesome doctor's office that has actually helped more than any others I have visited. I am slowly healing. However, we have met our limit on the first set of appointments. My parents are still paying off the last few visits. They do not except insurance. If I can reach at least $1,100 that will pay for the next 10 visits. The rest would be used to pay for my supplements and anything else they need me to take to get this healing process moving along. I'm not begging for money, I just am asking for a little help. I feel confident that God is going to heal me through this doctor it's just going to take some time and unfortunately, money. I know God is going to get all of the glory through this.
