Join Star Wolf and Venus Rising as they build the Venus Rising Healing Arts Sanctuary on Dove Mountain!
A Message from Star Wolf:
In 2003, when my late husband and beloved, Brad Collins and I moved ourselves along with our Venus Rising Shamanic business from San Francisco to Isis Cove 14 years ago, we had a dream.
Over time we shared our dream with other like-minded spiritual friends and the rest is history as others took a leap of faith and moved to the sacred mountains of North Carolina with us. In a very short time, our “unintentional, intentional” community was formed. We all felt that the sacred spirits of the land had called each of us “home”. Isis Cove is the name that Brad and I gave the gentle little cove that soon became a powerful place for hundreds of people who sought shamanic healing, transformation and nurturing in nature with supportive shamanic teachers and Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators.
Throughout the years, we’ve held 100s of workshops, gatherings, trainings and celebrations in the Venus Rising Sanctuary that we had converted from a carport into our group room in the heart of Isis Cove.
When we heard that the land adjacent to Isis Cove was going to be sold and the plan was to clear-cut all the trees from that beautiful property, we took another leap of faith. Once again we went into our hearts with a deep inner process about what was ours to do and where would we find the funds to buy the parcel of land.
We had many outer signs, along with our inner guidance that led Brad and I to take another leap of faith. Whenever we walked the land, we spotted and heard the high trilling of a pair of palliated woodpeckers that were nesting in the tall trees on high point of the mountain that we ended up naming Dove Mountain. We decided on the name Dove Mountain to represent and exemplify the innocent trusting spirit that we both knew we needed to believe in over and over again, otherwise we would be too fearful to take the first steps forward.
Once we surrendered to our heart’s inner knowing, Dove Mountain came into our care and shortly thereafter, Isis, the Great, Ancient, Mother Goddess of All, came to me in a Shamanic Breathwork Journey and gave me the message that it was urgent for us to begin building and creating sacred, elemental temples upon the land. These temples would become (and did become) gathering places for kindred spirits to come from all over the world for journeys, shamanic healings and transformations.
Thus far on Dove Mountain, we have created the Spirit Temple Deck and the Blue Star Wheel of Transformation that overlook the rest of the elemental sites. Our beautiful Medicine Wheel which consists of 37 stones each weighing in between 1000-2000 lbs, honors the element of Earth and has been used for vision questing, healing ceremonies, weddings and memorial services and much more. Next to the Medicine Wheel is our sacred Fire Temple represented by a metal arch structure sculpted like a flame. Inside of the sculpture is lined with a filament and can be lit up with fire shooting throughout the structure which gives one the feeling of standing or passing through the flames once it is lit and they walk through the archway. This is where we do fire circles, drumming circles and fire walks.
There are other sacred spaces that have been created on Dove Mountain including a small playground for children and a pollinator garden with a tetrahedron that one can sit in to connect with the Great Star Nation and their inner selves. There is also a Sacred Union Labyrinth and a Spirit Wolves Walking Trail.
We never regretted taking that second leap of faith, nor the hard work that followed. The Sacred Elemental Temples of Dove Mountain have created so much healing and joy to so many who have had the privilege to connect with those energies.
On August 2nd, 2014, Brad completed his shamanic initiation with cancer and passed to the other side. I knew it was time to go inward and allow myself to grieve, and rest deeply. It was also a time of deep reflection, life review and questioning what’s next?
As I slowly took myself and my life apart, actually acknowledging that my old life was now over,I was both numb and in shock and, it was right where I was supposed to be. I truly felt like I had lived out several mythological story lines with Brad, including the love story of Isis and Osiris and also flavors or King Arthur and the end of Camelot.
Over time, the inner stirrings and rememberings of who I was before I met and married Brad rose up in my consciousness, and as the wheel turned, my creative urges began to slowly emerge. From those first stirrings of life after death, I was able to give birth to several new creations that began to catch my interest and in time came into full bloom as a new vision, which I share with you now.
It is time for the renewal of my heart and the rebirth of my dreams; actually they are shared dreams with my ever faithful, beloved Venus Rising team. Especially, Ruby Falconer, Kathy Morrison, Nikolaus Wolf, Sarah Jane Fridy, and Judy Red Hawk. Each day others are passionately stepping up to assist in with Venus Rising’s rebirth on Dove Mountain.
We are in the process of creating our new Venus Rising Healing Arts Sanctuary! The present phase consists of creating a large open air pavilion that will overlook the sumptuous Blue Mountains of North Carolina. We have a building plan, a contractor, and a permit. Weather permitting we are ready to start building.
Our only hold up is the funding for the structure. We have just started to fund raise and we have $7,000 of the $60,000 that we need to complete this phase of our project. Once we have built and paid for the air pavilion we will dream forward enclosing the building and adding a large deck that extends out over the mountain with breathtaking views. However, the pavilion will allow us to realize the first part of this new dream in that we will be able to have larger groups attend our events. We have our largest monthlong Shamanic Breathwork Training & Immersion group coming up in May and we are envisioning that we could have the pavilion up and ready by then. Our builders have told us it is entirely possible if we have the funds ready to go and the weather is on our side!
And, we need your help. Many of you have joined me and Venus Rising over the years. You know the land, you know our stories, and you know our hearts.

We will be creating a Spirit Wolves day long celebration and Shamanic Breathwork Ceremony to honor the 100 Spirit Wolves who are called to be the original founders of a sacred space to breathe, make art, dance, sing, cry, laugh and dream the future into being…this will be a place where Hope is reborn and Imaginal Cells are activated that will help us all to remember who we really are when we have hope and live from love instead of fear.
