My Story
Hi, my name is Cassandra, I’m 36 years old, and this is not an easy thing for me to write. I’ve always been independent and strong-willed — the kind of person who works hard, takes care of herself, and never asks for help. But today, I find myself in a place where I can’t do this alone.
I work as a social worker, a role that allows me to support and advocate for others every day. Helping people through their toughest moments is not just my career — it’s who I am. I pour my energy into others, but now I’ve reached a point where I need to turn some of that care inward and ask for help for myself.
The Challenge
For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with dental issues. It’s the one part of my life I’ve felt truly vulnerable and embarrassed about. Over the past decade, I’ve spent nearly $20,000 out of pocket on dental care, doing everything I can to stay on top of it. Despite my efforts, things have only gotten more complicated.
Earlier this year, I developed an abscess and had to have one of my front teeth removed. During the procedure, a crown was damaged, which now also needs to be replaced. On top of the $4,000 I’ve already put on CareCredit for the extraction and implant, I’ve been quoted $6,500 to restore my front four teeth.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about teeth — it’s about health, confidence, and being able to smile without fear. A healthy smile would give me back a part of myself I’ve been missing for years. It would mean showing up in my personal and professional life with the confidence I’ve always dreamed of.
How You Can Help
I know these are hard times for everyone, and asking for help is not easy for me. But if you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean the world. Every dollar brings me closer to being pain-free and finally smiling with confidence. If you can’t give, even sharing my story would help more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and supporting me on this journey.
