Healing Trauma with Animal Therapy
Tax deductible
The October 7th attack and subsequent wars in Israel have created a mental health emergency. Experts estimate that hundreds of thousands of people, of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, are suffering from trauma and are at risk of developing Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). In response to this crisis, we have launched an ambitious project called "Healing Together" which will dramatically increase both the quantity and quality of Animal Assisted Psychotherapy (AAP) practitioners. AAP is one of the most effective treatments for healing trauma and preventing PTSD. We plan to establish a state-of-the-art therapeutic center where we will: train psychotherapists in trauma and Animal Assisted Psychotherapy; offer treatment by a team of expert therapists; make treatments accessible to all; and create comfortable and inviting spaces for individual and group therapy.
This is a project of the non-profit organization, Breeyah, based in California, whose principals are: Cantor Steven Puzarne and Rabbi Suzanne Singer.
