Help Bring Healing Through Rhythm

Music has the power to heal, connect, and inspire — and few instruments do that quite like the drum. I’m raising funds to create a therapeutic drum circle program for our mental health facility and local community, where rhythm becomes a tool for grounding, expression, and healing.

The goal of this project is to purchase a set of drums that can be used in group therapy sessions for both adolescents and adults, helping participants release stress, build connection, and rediscover joy through sound. These instruments will belong to me and will be used both in my clinical work and in community-based drum circles that promote mental wellness and unity.

Our first fundraising goal is $500, which will allow us to purchase Remo Rhythm Head drums (durable, high-quality drum heads that fit over 5–7 gallon buckets) and materials to create a set of 10–15 beginner drums. Each drum costs around $50, with buckets costing about $5 each.

Our ultimate goal is $3,500, which would allow us to purchase 12 authentic djembe-style drums of varying sizes — creating a full, rich drum circle experience for larger groups and long-term use. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us take one step closer to bringing rhythm, healing, and hope to those who need it most.
