Moodring Ceramic
A tribute to handmade ceramics — textural, raw, and subtly defiant.

Hi, I’m Elsa — and this is my work.
I make ceramic vessels by hand — every piece thrown on the wheel, shaped through repetition, care, and instinct. Moodring Ceramic is about creating meaningful, lasting objects that reflect the natural world and how we should cherish it.

My background is in design, but my path shifted when I started working with clay. The work I make now is rooted in personal healing, connection to the environment, and a desire to ask questions with my work.

Why Ceramics
Before ceramics, I was a graphic designer working in environments that pushed profit over people. After some traumatic experiences in my life, I was dealing with clinical PTSD. I felt detached — from my body, my community, and the world around me.
In search of something honest and grounding, I turned to clay. The shift was immediate and elemental: stained clothes, slow rhythms, physical presence. The simple act of shaping earth with my hands gave me something I hadn’t felt in years and helped me tap into my nervous system and gave me a sense of agency I had lost. Your mindset shows up in the material you’re moving, and each vessel is a quiet act of strength and beauty.

Philosophy & Style
Moodring Ceramic is deeply influenced by nature, architecture, and the subtle alchemy of form and texture. With earthy tones, smoky glazes, and striking forms, my work aims to capture the serene poise of nature suspended in time and all its unexpected beauty.

Why It Matters
Ceramics are not just decorative. They’re deeply human. I believe in art that grounds us, that reflects our spirit however unassuming or loud. Work that reflects the landscapes we are a part of, whether natural or cerebral.

When we cease to support the arts, we diminish the very spirit of our communities. Be the pulse that sustains those of us with sensitive hearts, those who feel deeply, those who challenge the status quo, and those who long to craft something tangible. Stand as a beacon of community in an age that seems to undermine it at every turn.

What You’re Supporting
With your help, I’ll be able to continue this work and deepen my skills and vision as an artist.
Your support will help fund:
* 1-Year Studio Membership – $3,000
* Clay, Glazes, Equipment – $1,000
* Educational Resources – $1000
* Professional Pottery Wheel – $1,500
* Kiln savings: 500
* Travel & Mentorships – $1,500
* Yearly Shipping Support (once site can support a shop) – $1000

Next Steps & Future Goals
This is just the beginning. With your support, I’ll be able to:
* Explore glaze chemistry and formulate custom finishes using hand-mined materials like quartz and obsidian.
* Further develop a cohesive design system across form and surface.
* Combine thrown pottery with sculptural work that tells emotional and environmental stories
* Launch a limited blind box series, merging my ceramic practice with my illustrative background
* Travel to study under ceramicists with different cultural and technical approaches.

Let’s Keep Clay Alive
I can’t see myself doing anything else. In a time when speed and mass production dominate, handmade work needs adorers — people who believe in preserving craft.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
