If you know the Horstman family you know they care for others. They've done it their whole lives. They are there to lend a helping hand, raise funds, mission trips, youth sponsors, pastoral care, home repairs.. the list just goes on and on.
Right now they are the ones that need our support!
Kristy went in to have a scope of her lungs on Friday April 2nd after being very sick for the last 6 months. Unfortunately it revealed the infection had spread and was more severe then the scans had shown. She was immediately put on a ventilator. It's been determined that she has a staph infection. Staph infections are more severe because they are resistant to antibiotics.
Kristy is allergic and so far has been resistant to antibiotics which further complicates things.
Thankfully Kristy in her true strong woman form was removed from the ventilator on Easter Sunday! However, she is still very ill, very weak and will need a lot of time to fully recover.
Jeff will also need to be there to help her as much as possible and at this time it's unknown if that will mean more missed work.
The medical bills are going to be high! Worth every penny but that alone is enough reason to offer what assistance you can. They are like most families of 4 they have a house payment, two growing boys, and well BILLS.
I would create a meal train but I believe she will still need to limit exposure to others due to her risk of catching any other infections. If at a later time that is an option I will let you know.
Please DONATE whatever you can to help this special family.
PRAY for the Horstman's to get through this trial, for Kristy to heal, and for Jeff to have the strength to support his wife and his family. PRAY for the doctors to have wisdom to find an antibiotic that Kristy's body will not be resistant or allergic to.
THANK YOU!
