My sweet Obi has always dealt with health issues, but this past month a regular check-up showed some abnormal liver values. When getting an ultrasound, it was revealed he had pleural effusion - a significant amount of fluid surrounded his lungs and abdomen.

Most of the fluid was drained and was sent to a lab, which showed no signs of what is actually causing the fluid retention. A chest x-ray showed it is likely not congestive heart failure. Tomorrow (12/10) I’m taking him for a liver biopsy (and I hope another chest tap to get rid of the fluids that came back) and crossing my fingers we get some conclusive answers.

All this to say, the vet bills have piled up. I have savings for this type of emergency, but it’s been difficult financially this year. Any little bit helps, but even just having healing thoughts for my sweet boy means a lot for us.
