Hello, my name is Laquisha, and I’m a proud single mom to two amazing children, a bright teenage daughter and a curious, preschool-aged son. I’m sharing our story with a heart full of faith and humility, trusting that God will touch the hearts of those He’s called to help us. We’ve taken a leap of faith to rebuild our lives in a safer, more peaceful environment abroad. One where my children can finally receive the care, stability, and healing they deserve. This journey hasn’t been easy, but I believe with all my heart that God didn’t bring us this far to leave us.
A Lifetime of Survival
My life has been a journey through pain, struggle, survival, and perseverance. I lost my mom at a young age (12), grew up in foster care, faced physical and sexual abuse and experienced homelessness as a child. Those early traumas shaped me, but God kept me. I’ve carried that same strength into motherhood doing everything I can to protect, provide, and persevere. He had a plan, even when I couldn’t see it.
As a mother, I faced the unimaginable. I lost my 5-month-old daughter due to an abusive relationship. I’ve raised my children on my own with no support from their father. I’ve worked long hours only to face racism and discrimination in the workplace that left me emotionally and financially drained. I knew something had to change fast and that it would require me to start over, yet again. I couldn’t keep surviving, I needed to start living.
My Children Deserve Better Healthcare
One of the most painful realities I’ve faced in the U.S. is being unable to get my children the medical care they need. My son has been dealing with a painful skin condition for over 2 years, that requires a specialist. He's been on the wait list for nearly 2 years. My daughter has needed a tooth pulled and braces for over 4 years, but because we didn't have the proper insurance, I couldn't afford it.
But in Thailand, God made a way - we’ve finally found some relief. The healthcare system is not only extremely affordable, but efficient as well. My children can now see specialists within days not years and at a fraction of the costs. This is a major reason why I chose to relocate. They deserve to be healthy and happy. They deserve to be seen and cared for without worries of cost and waiting.
Why I Moved Abroad
I didn’t move to Thailand to run. I moved in faith. I moved to break generational curses. To heal and to trust God with the unknown. A place where my kids can thrive in a safe environment, where they can get quality education, and where we can finally prioritize our health, peace, and emotional well-being. I’ve sold everything I could, downsized, and planned as carefully as possible but even with all that, our funds are running low while I'm working on building remote income streams.
How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly toward:
Medical care and prescriptions for my children
Rent, food, and basic necessities while I get financially stable
Education and childcare expenses
Visa and immigration costs for our legal stay in Thailand
I know there's so many people who are struggling right now. Even a small amount makes a big difference for us. I’ve done everything I can and now I’m trusting God to touch hearts. If you feel led, please support or share our story. Thank you for being a part of the miracle we’ve been praying for.
With gratitude and love,
The Jackson Family
