Healing Shannon

Hello everyone. I am writing in hopes that family, friends and the community can come together to support my wife Shannon through upcoming out-of-country surgery and post-care to give her the quality of life she so richly deserves for herself and her family.

Many of you know that Shannon's story began back in 2007 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a lumpectomy and mastectomy surgeries. In 2010, she had implant surgery to replace what she lost to cancer. Millions of women have had implants for various reasons and they were deemed safe. This is where our new story comes in and why we need your help.

In 2016, her body began to show abnormal and unexplained symptoms that she and doctors attributed to aging even though at the time she was only 50 years old. Numerous tests were done to rule out lupus, Lyme disease and internal issues including bone marrow disorders and leukemia. All were negative but the symptoms continued and worsened. Whatever Shannon had was presenting itself closely to other diseases.

Shannon had to leave her job in 2019 as her body was breaking down, shortness of breath, blurred vision, rashes, mobility issues and inflamed joints. She kept pressing the medical community as she knew something was horribly wrong.

Then the news came - in June 2019 she received a notice of "recall" for her Allergan CA-125 textured breast implant - it was being recalled in North America as there was a tendency for them to break down over time releasing silicone, heavy metal and black mold. These substances can migrate through the body and settle in the body's organs and extremities and can also cause blood cancer. Shannon did so much research and compared her symptoms to other women having recalled breast implants and they were the same. She now had the answer to her problems and most importantly to get "this thing out of her" has been a 3-year journey in Canada with no results. Plastic surgeons don't like to talk about it as it would affect their implant business so she needed to find an "ex-plant" specialist who could fully and aggressively surgically remove the sediments and leaching that has taken over her body. It's the only way for her to have any quality of life. She is only 57 years old now.

This is where all of you come in. While the surgery is available out west in Canada (and is out of pocket), the combination of the philosophy, care and surgery that is so crucial for Shannon is available in the United States through Dr. Shaher Khan and his executive surgical clinic in Michigan. Surgery is booked for February 13th. He has helped women all over the world with incredible results. By donating, you will be able to help with the $20,000 we need to cover the cost of surgery, hotel, meals, transportation, additional health insurance, follow-up appointments, time off work to drive back/forth to Michigan, hospital/clinics, etc. The $20,000 is what we know right now - it's the unknown post-surgery that we're not sure about and what we'll need. We know naturopaths and remedies will be needed along with compression bindings, pharmaceuticals, etc. Any help you can provide to offset these costs would be so much appreciated by Shannon, myself and our two children Leah and James. She's focusing on a future where her body is hers, please help us help Shannon get that.
