I would like to start by saying Thank you! to everyone who has been reaching out and checking in on my father. When I was sent the post from the Mt. Holly community Facebook page and saw all the love and prayers he’s been receiving, it brought tears to my eyes. It truly showed that you all miss him just as much as he misses you.

Also a huge Thank You to those who have visited him in the hospital, prayed with him, and even stopped by the house to offer kind words. Your support means more than we can ever express.

These past few months have not been easy for him or our family, and the love and concern we’ve received have been a true testament to who he is and the impact he’s had on those around him.

Many of you know him as Uncle Joey, Mr. Dean, Joseph, “The Mayor of Mt. Holly” (self-proclaimed, of course! lol), and in his younger days, “Deano.” No matter the name, one thing has always been the same his kind heart, big personality, and deep love for the community he’s called home his entire life.

As many of you know, my father has been sick for quite a while now, and a few months ago, he suffered a stroke that has dramatically affected his health even more and now quality of life. Since then, we’ve been doing everything we can to manage his care and provide him with the support he needs.

Unfortunately, his medical care including ongoing physical therapy, personal care assistance, and essential needs has become an overwhelming financial burden. His care is currently being paid for out of pocket, and medical bills and other expenses have continued to pile up.

It’s been a tough road, and although we’ve done our best to handle everything privately over the past few years, we’ve reached a point where we truly need the help of our friends, family, and community.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help relieve some of the financial stress and ensure that our father can continue receiving the quality care he deserves. Every donation will go directly toward medical bills, home care services, and essential living expenses.
