My name is Dr. Domonique Wedderburn , founder of Healing Hearts Jamaica (HHJA) . In association with Trecia Kahveci, we are launching this Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund to support families in Westmoreland, Jamaica, one of the parishes most severely impacted by the storm.
Hurricane Melissa brought widespread devastation to Jamaica. In Westmoreland, homes were destroyed, power lines and water systems collapsed, and roads remain impassable. Many families — including single mothers, children, and the elderly — are left without shelter, food, or basic necessities. The damage has left an already vulnerable population in urgent need of help and hope.
At Healing Hearts Jamaica, our mission extends beyond health education — it’s about compassion in action. We are standing with our community through this disaster, helping to rebuild lives, restore dignity, and renew hope.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Every dollar donated will directly support recovery and relief efforts through:
Emergency Supplies: food, clean water, clothing, sanitary and hygiene kits.
Medical & Health Aid: first aid items, essential medications, and support for chronic illness care.
Rebuilding Support: small grants and materials to help restore damaged homes, focusing on women, the elderly, and vulnerable families.
Distribution Logistics: safe transport and delivery of supplies to remote and rural areas.
Community Recovery: long-term support to help families rebuild stability and livelihoods.
Your generosity will help Healing Hearts Jamaica bring tangible relief to those suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. Together, we can turn heartbreak into healing — one home, one family, and one heart at a time.
