We're reaching out to share our daughter Ellie's incredible journey with you. In November of 2024, Ellie's health took a sudden turn when she struggled with eating and breathing issues. After persistent visits to the pediatrician and escalating concerns, Ellie was urgently referred to Boston Children’s Hospital. There, she was diagnosed with critical heart failure and then later Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Her heart was enlarged, her ejection fraction dangerously low at 15%, and her condition was life-threatening. Immediate treatment in the Cardiac ICU saved her life, stabilizing her condition and starting her on a long road to recovery.

Since then, Ellie has shown remarkable progress. Her ejection fraction has improved to the high 20's to low 30's, thanks to the dedicated care of her medical team and the support of our family and friends. She takes 7 medications twice daily and undergoes daily weight monitoring to ensure she continues to grow healthily and manages any fluid buildup effectively.

Ellie's journey is not without its challenges. While we celebrate every milestone, like her recent achievement of rolling over for the first time on St. Patrick's Day, we also face significant medical expenses. Despite insurance coverage, the costs of ongoing clinic appointments, specialized care, and medications add up quickly.
