Help Save Mary Frankie and 106 Year Old Mother

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to hear my story. Please keep reading to learn more about me, and why I need your help.

My name is Mary Frankie Shaw Millens. I live in a suburb of Atlanta Georgia in Stone Mountain. My 106 year old mother, Winnell Shaw. After living at home with me for over 20 years, now resides at a nursing facility near my home.

My husband of 18 years, Willie, was retired and was our family’s solid foundation until he became ill in April 2021 with COVID-19. He died in January 2024 after battling with several COVID related illnesses over those next three years. When Willie became ill, I became a full-time caretaker for Willie and Mama. Life became very difficult for the three of us and life-changing decisions had to be made.

We decided to care for Willie at home and Mama went to a skilled nursing facility. Over the months Willie’s health teetered between stable and critical. I spent many sleepless nights at the hospital until it was obvious that homecare was no longer an option for us. Willie went into the same nursing facility as Mama.

In August 2023 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I first heard the diagnosis I was devastated, especially when I was told by my doctor that I would need 24 weeks of chemotherapy. I thought about my mother and how much she needs me. I knew I would most likely be very sick if I had to have chemo treatments. I asked the doctor lots questions and she agreed to order a test called a Mammaprint that she said might answer some questions.

The results from the Mammaprint report said “No Clinically, Meaningful Benefit from Chemotherapy”. I looked for alternative treatment. I found a place here in Atlanta that has been helping people find the root causes of their illnesses for 25 years. With the help of family and friends, I have been able to see positive results from the treatments that I have been able to get. These treatments are a very expensive out of pocket expense. (Insurance will not pay and I need at least 2 treatments per week for approximately 30 weeks @ $420 per treatment. Foods to fight this disease is an additional expense.

I am asking you to help me. I am asking you to go on this journey of faith, hope and healing with me! So far I have not been sick since my diagnosis in August 2023. I need your prayers and support to keep striving toward health and longevity. I am excited that my mother is 106 years old and I am still able to see after her. I am hopeful that for me and perhaps many other people, we come to realize that we may be able to get well without chemotherapy and that chemotherapy may not be the only way to conquer cancer.
