Healing Hands for Diana

Hello everyone, I’m starting this fundraiser to help my coworker+friend, Diana. Diana Rios is the Lead Elite Massage Therapist at Hand & Stone. Diana came on board in March of 2021 and has become one of the most sought after massage therapists as a result of her advanced skills, knowledge and nurturing personality.
On December 9, 2019, Diana was caught in the middle of a double impact car accident that left her with a broken rib and 7 herniations with bi- lateral pinched nerves. This injury has affected her entire body but mainly impacted her spine and hands causing small, regular daily activities to take a huge toll on her body. Diana chose the route of holistic medicine, massage, acupuncture, and physical therapy to help manage the symptoms. She has continued to work through the pain since she did not have much of a choice considering she is the primary caretaker for her mother and needs to support the two of them.
On May 15, 2023, Diana was in another traumatic event that herniated another vertebrae in her cervical spine and injured her hands again causing her condition to further worsen rapidly. Since she has exhausted all other treatment options, surgery is now necessary which will take place on July 20, 2023. Diana will be undergoing a discectomy and fusion of C4-C5 and C5-C6.
We are hoping to raise some funds so that Diana can focus on her recovery and return to us healthy and strong without having to worry about how she will support herself and her mother as well as cover medical expenses during her three month recovery. Massage therapy is not just a job to Diana, this is very clearly her passion. It has been very hard watching Diana continue to do what she loves even though it causes her tremendous amounts of pain daily. She spends so much time caring for others and putting them before her needs even if it means she will be unable to move her hands at all the next day. It is time Diana focuses on her own health and wellness so we are just trying to make that a little easier on her and her family. Thank you.
