Healing Hammer before he goes Home
Hammer has recently been diagnosed with stage three esophageal cancer and after much research, he has chosen to forego traditional treatment options. He and his wife, Tara, are choosing quality of life over quantity and are hitting the road in an RV, lovingly named Miss Wendy, to make the most of their time together. Hammer is on a healing journey before he goes home.
Hammer wants to spend what time he has left experiencing the Redwoods and the Pacific Northwest while visiting friends and family along the way. Anyone who knows Hammer knows that even with this tragic diagnosis, his outlook has been one of hope and unshaken faith! He is very confident in his decision to spend this next season traveling and seeking God-appointed moments with others while taking care of himself holistically. Their goal is to pull out of Florida in Miss Wendy at the end of July and make their way across the country with many stops and ultimately landing in Hammer’s dream destination, The Redwoods. Heartland Hospice will be coming to the RV in multiple states to offer the medical care necessary for Hammer to take this journey. We need your help to make their healing journey a reality.

We will be setting up a private Facebook group where we will be sharing photos, videos, and updates that will be interactive with YOU. The purpose of this private group is to create an online scrapbook that you are also contributing to. There will be regular updates about our trip, but also it’s a space where we would like you to post your photos and memories with Hammer and of course your tattoos!
We know hearing about a terminal diagnosis can be uncomfortable, and many times people don’t know what to “say” or “do” This private group will be an interactive celebration, a chance for YOU to join them on this journey and for US to all love on Hammer together before he goes home.
Hammer has been an ambassador of the business community in Flagler Beach and has been a mentor to many. Both Hammer and Tara are servants at heart, have philanthropic spirits, and have given much. It’s time to give back.
