Dear Beloved Community,

Our brother, artist Emmanuel C. Montoya, has been facing an ongoing health crisis since early 2019. Having recently been diagnosed with Dementia atop of his chronic lupus, there are many tough obstacles that lay ahead. His contribution to the cultural life of the San Francisco Bay Area’s indigenous and Chican@ communities cannot be overstated. As a master printmaker, muralist, sculptor and teacher, he has illuminated the space and lives of so many. Now he needs our support.

Please consider donating as generously as you can to help fund his medical needs. As we know, our national health care system is broken, and institutional support for artists of color and our treasured elders is nearly non-existent. We are seeking financial support from our circles of community to provide him with caring attention from BIPOC and traditional, wholistic healers that can accurately and sensitively diagnose and provide the life-sustaining resources that he urgently needs for his long-term journey to health.
