Hi everyone, my name is Marissa and my sweet baby Texas is very sick right now. My partner Allie and I adopted Texas in 2021 and he has been our beloved boy ever since. On Monday night, 4/13, Texas became very lethargic and would not eat dinner, which was a huge red flag as this big boy has never missed a meal. We took him to the emergency vet and they did not provide the proper care he needed. We took him to a different vet the next day, 4/14, where they reported he had a temp of 106, which is severe for dogs. He was started on antibiotics and was given fluids and returned home. He was checked again yesterday, 4/15, and he had not improved much. They ran blood and urine work at this time. Today, 4/16, he continues to not show much improvement so we took him to another emergency vet as his regular vet is booked out for days. Today he was hospitalized as they need to run further tests and monitor him.

We love this boy endlessly; he is the heart of our home. I’m not one to ask for money for a personal expense like this, but the vet bills have racked up extremely fast over the last few days. My cat Orchid passed away in August of 2025 and I spent $5,000+ trying to save her. I drained all of my savings and have only recently paid off all of the debt from that. Like everyone else, finances are tough for us right now and these vet bills are adding a heavy strain. The last photos is only 1 of 4 vet bills from the last few days.
