I'm raising money on behalf of my younger sister, Margo. If you have the privilege of knowing Margo, you already know that she is a truly incredible human being. She instantly lights up any room with her incredible sense of humor and big personality. She is quick to lend a helping hand, be a listening ear, tell a joke (she is the queen of puns), or make you smile.
These qualities are what make her the person we all know and love. Margo is determined to face any adversity with determination and a positive perspective. As she is gearing up for her biggest fight yet, this hasn't changed a bit.
The Backstory:
Margo started to notice she was losing coordination on her left side and began experiencing frequent headaches. She trusted her intuition that something was "off", and went in for an MRI. When lesions were discovered, a biopsy was ordered. After a very long and scary wait, we received the devastating news that she was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer- Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma. There are many questions yet to be answered regarding treatment. Due to the sensitive area of her tumors near her brain stem, and potential risks of swelling, surgery is currently not an option. However, we are actively seeking more opinions. One thing is certain- we want the best possible treatment for Margo.
The Costs:
In order to obtain the treatment outcome, out of state treatment may be required. These funds will be used for flights and lodging as we seek answers from top specialists, and begin treatment. Margo is determined to continue life as normally as she can. However, as a big sister I want her to have the ability to take off the time she needs to rest, and prioritize her healing without the added financial pressure. These funds will be used to not only help with medical expenses and co-pays, but help cover her costs of living while she undergoes treatment.
On behalf of our family, I sincerely want to thank you for all the support and words of encouragement you have already shared-please continue to pray for her healing . We are so incredibly blessed by our supportive family and friends! #TeamHealMargo
