Healing for Christine Talloden

Donation protected
On April 20, 2020, Christine was urgently admitted into the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK after feeling ill for only a few weeks. CT scans and a biopsy revealed the shocking news that Christine was suffering from Peritoneal Mesothelioma, a very rare, aggressive, and unfortunately incurable form of cancer that has formed tumors throughout her abdomen. Although incurable, this form of cancer is treatable to ensure the best possible quality of life.

Christine underwent several blood transfusions to increase her hemoglobin levels while she waited for surgeons in Calgary, AB to assess her candidacy for surgery. After several nerve-racking medical procedures and examinations, it was finally determined that Christine was in fact the perfect candidate for life-saving surgery. Her surgery date has just been set for June 22, 2020 in Calgary. Following surgery to remove the tumors in her abdomen as well as a round of Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC), Christine will recover for two to three weeks in the hospital, a province away from her two-year old son, Ethan.

In order to support Christine through this unfortunate time, we are hoping to raise funds to assist her with travel and accommodation expenses for her and a family member while they stay in Calgary, as well as everyday living expenses to support her young son back home in Saskatoon.

Christine’s unwavering strength and faith continue to be guiding forces in her life and with the added support of her family, friends, colleagues, and community, Christine will be able to navigate and manage this illness as she continues to raise her sweet, goofy, popsicle-loving little boy.

On behalf of Christine, Ethan, and the Talloden Family, we thank you for your support and any contribution you are able to make towards Christine’s healing journey. The fire inside her burns brightly and she is ready for this fight.

We are all behind you, Christine.
