Dr. Brandan Wustefeld-Janssens, veterinary oncology surgeon, was hit by a car while riding his bicycle home from work the week of March 6th.  He suffered 2 broken arms that required surgical repair, multiple fractured ribs and a fractured pelvis. You might say life changed in an instant.

In addition to being a surgeon Brandan is a husband to Zerelda and father to Harry and Sophia. Brandan and his family crafted a lifestyle here that worked well without a car (impressive!) and with Zerelda focusing on taking care of the children while Brandan completes this last year of surgical training…in a foreign country.  This accident introduces many challenges.

Many people have expressed an interest in helping Brandan and their family.  We have a long-standing culture at the Flint Animal Cancer Center to “help our family members” when needed.  Given that there will be multiple unplanned expenses as a result of this accident, our goal is to lessen the financial burden on his family during his recovery by setting up this GoFundMe site on their behalf.  Any contribution will help.  Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
