Cole’s journey began in Texas, where he was found in a high-kill shelter. A compassionate shelter worker noticed his gentle soul and sweet temperament and knew he didn’t belong there. He was pulled from the shelter just in time and placed with a rescue that promised him a better life.

But even in the rescue, Cole continued to be overlooked. He waited over two years for a foster or forever home. Each time it seemed like his turn might come, another animal with more urgent needs would arrive and be chosen instead. Still, Cole waited patiently; always kind, always hopeful.

In 2022, we found Cole and instantly knew he was meant to be part of our family. He’s a black lab/boxer mix with a heart as big as his personality; smart, affectionate, and full of love. Cole goes between homes with my son, Liam, and has become his constant in a world that can sometimes feel uncertain and lonely. No matter where Liam is, he always has Cole; his best friend, his comfort, and his loyal companion. Their bond is something truly special.

Recently, Cole suffered a Complete CCL rupture and meniscal damage, a condition that causes significant pain and joint instability. Our vet has recommended TPLO surgery to give him the best chance at healing and returning to an active life. The total cost is around $8,000. We were able to move forward with the surgery using CareCredit, but the monthly payments are a heavy burden for our family. This surgery will not only relieve Coles current pain but also greatly reduce his risk of developing severe arthritis and long-term joint damage as he ages.

We’re doing everything we can to manage the cost and give Cole the care he deserves. After everything he’s been through — from being discarded to waiting years in rescue for a home — he finally found love, and now we want to give him the pain-free life he deserves. Even raising half the amount would ease the financial strain tremendously. Every donation, share, and kind word brings us closer to helping Cole heal.
