In March of 2018 our dear son Blaize became very sick and was diagnosed with PANDAS Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections. Blaize had sudden and severe anxiety, OCD, and vocal tics. Our son was changed overnight! He went from our fun loving, sweet, gentle son, to a boy plagued by fear, who couldn't understand why this was happening to him. As a parent, it is terrifying to not know or understand what is happening to your child. It is even more terrifying to not be able to help him!
We have learned that Blaize's immune system does not react properly to invading viruses, bacteria, and environmental toxins. These things send him into a flare of symptoms, and he cannot function regularly. His immune system begins attacking his own brain causing extreme inflammation.
We have found a doctor who has a program that will identify the underlying cause of Blaize's immune system malfunctions through hormone testing, food allergy testing, blood sugar regulation, underlying infections, and environmental triggers. This doctor has had over 1500 patients successfully healed from autoimmune diseases. Her most recent patient was a child with PANDAS. We have been accepted into the program but of course the financial burden falls upon us, as it is not approved by our insurance.
