Healing Asheville Through the Arts: Support Our Conservatory
Donation protected
Hello, and thank you for reading! As many of you know, the aftermath of Hurricane Helene left many in our Asheville area devoid of crucial resources. As staples like food, clothing, & shelter continue to pour in, we need your help in addressing another crucial need–a safe & healthy space to uplift children & families with the therapeutic, educational, and physical benefits of the expressive arts when they need it most!
The Asheville Conservatory of the Arts (ACOA) will provide a welcoming space where children and families can learn, create, and grow. Led by founding director & concert pianist, Kimberly Cann, our mission is to offer world-class instruction in music, movement, and visual arts, while partnering with Early Starters International to deliver trauma-informed care for preschoolers and their parents.
We’re SO close to completing our 4500 sq./ft. facility but need your help with:
1. Flood remediation (wall & floor repairs in our 650 sq/ft. gym room, costing $7,700).
2. Art supplies and loaner instruments for students.
3. Scholarships for families most affected by the hurricane.
Your donation will help children rediscover joy, confidence, and stability while providing their parents with a strong & potentially life-changing support network. Together, we can open our doors in December and make a lasting impact on our community!
Examples of How Your Contribution Will Help:
- $25: Buys art supplies for one child’s creative therapy session
- $50: Covers a week of classes (multi-disciplinary) for 1 Child (Ages 6+)
- $60: Covers a month of Kindermusik Classes for 1 Child (Ages 0-4)
- $100: Supports a family workshop in partnership with Early Starters International
- $500: Helps us furnish a classroom with desks, easels, or instruments
- $1,000 or more: Brings us closer to renovating & opening our facility
We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress, from opening day to the very first recitals. Thank you for helping us rebuild hope and creativity for Asheville’s next generation!
Warmly,
Geneva Shepherd & Monique Gaddy
