My life has been quite the healing journey, and it is truly a miracle that I am still alive. Though the journey has often been quite challenging I have learned so much along the way. And I am certain this most recent set of circumstances will only add to that wealth of knowledge.
All that life education, has in turn, been used in a variety of ways to serve others, through my art, energy work, work with the dying, my Priestess arts, and in many other ways in my daily life.
Living a mobile lifestyle alows me to serve in many ways, that a sedentary life would not. Living this way, I am in contact with the homeless, and the marginalized, and able to help them in a variety of ways.
Sometimes what they need most is just a bit of love, or counsel, encouragement to see medical attention, get sober, or go back home to family, where they can get the help they need.
Sometimes what they need is food, or a cup of hot tea. Other times it is an herbal tincture, or poultice, to heal their wounds, or soothe a painful tooth, or help balance their mood.
Living in an RV I am able to travel and bring my gifts to many people. I came into 2019 certain that this year my mission was to take my Priestessing on the road, and ultimately take those sacred, yet practical teachings home to friends, and family in Indiana.
As many of you know the last couple years have been extremely Challanging. Also my RV has had a lot of reoccurring issues, and once again it is leaking antifreeze. I am not sure if it is leaking from the radiator, or from a hose. I do know that it's leaking from the cap, but I'm not sure where the other leak is coming from. Whatever is dripping is happening while sitting, as it hasn't been driven for about a week now, and I just noticed it was leaking today. So it will have to go back to the shop ASAP . I just had it worked on a few weeks ago and was hoping it was road ready. Unfortunately that isn't the case. Worst case scenario is another radiator, and while the mechanic is in there, a water pump, since that is really the only thing in the cooling that I haven't replaced.
Coming back to San Diego has allowed me to address, and reassess many of my chronic health issues.
After years of pain I was finally able to have surgery to have a severely arthritic bone removed from my hand last summer. I have suffered from chronic migraines, often several times a week, for the last couple years.
Over the last several months I have had two sleep studies done, and finally have a CPAP machine ordered. Sleeping with a CPAP should help with my chronic fatigue, and migraines, as well as other health issues exacerbated by poor sleep, and lack of oxygen during the night. Hopefully now that it is ordered I can get the CPAP soon.
Living in an unhealthy situation in Ashland, and living in an RV in the city, with all the current social hostility, has taken its toll, and my PTSD, which was well under control for many years, has become quite an issue again. So much so, that I have had to start taking anti-anxiety meds, to be able to sleep, without startling at every unknown sound.
I have three lumbar herniations, and five in the thoracic region, and disk issues, and severe arthritis in my neck. I also have arthritis in my hips, lower back, and shoulders, and fibromyalgia. For some time I was able to manage my pain well with CBD oil, diet, a low stress lifestyle, meditation, and yoga. After fracturing my T11 vertebrate in October, I had to go back on daily pain meds.
Due to pain and recovery from surgeries, I haven't been able to work much on my art, or getting myself out there to teach, or sell very often. Consequently my income has dropped significantly, and my debt has increased.
I was hopeful that last week's surgery would fix the fracture, eliminating that pain, and allowing me to get off the pain meds, and back to more holistic approaches for pain management and healing. Unfortunately it seems something happened during that surgery, and I am now in constant, severe pain, that wraps around, from my back, along my side, and into my left pelvic region. Though it is constant, there are months when the pain is sharp and stabbing. And it is quite debilitating.
With this level of pain, everything I do is requires more effort, and even very strong pain meds do not eliminate the pain, or manage it for more than a few hours at a time. I wake several times a night, and have to take medication, to enable me to control the pain enough, to go back to sleep. Even the simplest of tasks is very difficult.
Quite frankly I don't know how long I can continue to live this way. And all I can do is keep focusing on one thing at a time, as I search for solutions for my physical condition, and to the ever mounting circumstances I find myself in .
So I am reaching out to you, my community of family and friends for help. I need to get the RV fixed, and get an order of high potency CBD oil. I need to pay my homeopath, and get the homeopathic remedies that I need. I need to figure out a way to get to Tucson, for at least a day or two, to buy my yearly inventory, so when I am feeling better I can continue to create and sell jewelry. And I need to get a room while there for a couple nights. I need to be able to afford that inventory.
I will have to have rides to and from appointments, and often that will need to be Uber or Lyft, because I cannot drive safely with this much pain, or on pain medication.
I will need Acupuncture, and massage to help with the healing. And I have to stay in San Diego at least until early March to get a recheck for my C-PAP, and get follow up care for my back.
I would love to offer a voucher in exchange for the amount donated, to anyone choosing to help me during this time of need. Those vouchers could be used for my jewelry, prints, felted creations, coloring books, or original paintings. Or you could request a gift certificate for art, for future wire wrapping classes, or other workshops, sister circles, or other Priestess services, such as weddings, funerals, or other ceremonies. Vouchers can be used in person, or to buy from my Etsy shop.
I so appreciate all that is given,
In light and love,
Grace
