For a long time, I didn’t think anything was “wrong enough” to ask for help. I got breast implants back in 2004, and for many years I simply lived my life without questioning them. Over time, though, I started noticing chronic neck and back pain, tension in my body, and a general feeling of fatigue that I learned to normalize. I told myself it was just part of getting older, working hard, or being busy.
Recently, as I’ve slowed down and listened more closely to my body, something shifted. I began connecting the dots between how long I’ve carried these implants and how my body has been compensating for years. The more I learned, the clearer it became that this wasn’t about appearance; it was about health, relief, and giving my body the chance to reset. Deciding to pursue explant surgery hasn’t been impulsive or easy. It’s been a deeply thoughtful, emotional process rooted in self-trust and healing. This surgery represents release: physically, emotionally, and spiritually and the beginning of a new chapter where my body doesn’t have to work so hard just to get through the day.
The cost of the procedure is significant and not covered by insurance, which is why I chose to reach out for support. Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’m learning that healing doesn’t have to happen in isolation. This fundraiser isn’t just about surgery, it’s about choosing long-term wellness, honoring my body, and creating space to continue doing the creative and healing work I love with more ease and energy.
The funds raised will go directly toward the medical costs associated with my explant surgery, including the surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, and surgical facility costs. Because this procedure is often not covered by insurance, the out-of-pocket expense is significant. Support will also help with essential recovery needs: things like post-operative care supplies, follow-up appointments, and allowing me the time and space to properly heal without rushing back into work before my body is ready.
If you’ve taken the time to read my story, thank you; that alone means more than I can express. If you feel led to support this fundraiser, please know that your generosity goes far beyond financial help. It’s encouragement, belief, and a reminder that I don’t have to walk this healing journey alone. Whether you choose to donate, share, or simply hold me in your thoughts, I am deeply grateful. Your support helps me move forward with courage, trust, and hope as I step into this next chapter of healing.
If you’re unable to give, sharing my story or sending a kind word is just as meaningful. Thank you for being part of my journey.
